Belarusian artist Katsiaryna Sumarava is participating in the 4th Biennial International Art Exhibition ‘Women and Art 2010 - A Global Perspective’ at Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates. This year the topic of the event is ‘The Environment and The Future’, focusing artists and audience on the present and future ecological situation in the world. Works by 22 artists from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East will be on display. The purpose of the exhibition (as it always been) is to provide women artists with a forum to show their art, meet and exchange views and ideas with other prominent women artists from all over the world. This platform enables the participants and the audience to get acquainted with the women art movement on a global level. The exhibition is organized by the Sharjah Ladies Club under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi (wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, the Patron of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and the Patron of the Sharjah Ladies Club). The exposition opens on the 20th of January and will be on show through the 20th of February 2010 at the Sharjah Art Museum. Describing her vision of the exhibition’s subject Katsiaryna Sumarava states in her conception: “I hope that my paintings symbolize for you my effort to show the beauty of a landscape - the incarnation of a rich nature we should care about. Streams of doubts and thoughts go through my head - a whirl of ideas I have to get structured before putting them into reality transforming them into a physical image on canvas”.
